Course Purpose
This course details the incremental phases of development that an average BIM project will pass through during its lifecycle.

Course Objectives
This course specifies each project phase within BIM and its accompanying Level of Development (LOD). It also illustrates the anticipated progress of the model across these phases.

Course Pre-requisites
An understanding of the general concepts of BIM is advantageous, but not essential for participation.

  • Recap of typical BIM project phases including; Inception, Design, Pre-Construction, Construction and Operations
  • How we use levels of development including the; Concept Model, Schematic Design Model, Detail Design Model, Construction Model, Full Virtual Prototype and the As built FM Interface Model
